About Pooja Viswanathan:

Dr. Pooja Viswanathan completed PhD and post-doctoral research on “smart” wheelchairs that helped prevent collisions through various autonomous interventions and provided wayfinding assistance through adaptive prompts. Dr. Viswanathan has received numerous awards from prestigious organizations such as Google, and worked at Honda Research Institute on state-of-the-art computer vision and robotics technology. During the past 15 years, she has published several peer-reviewed publications (https://www.brazemobility.com/publications), organized international workshops on “smart” wheelchairs, and authored book chapters on the same topic. Dr. Viswanathan is founder and CEO of Braze Mobility Inc., where she invented the world's first and award-winning blind spot sensors for wheelchairs. She was named WXN Top 100 Most Powerful Women and BMO Entrepreneur 2021, and is on Robohub's 50 Women In Robotics You Need to Know 2022.
