Kelsey Burke is the Vice President of Human Resources for VGM Group, Inc.  In her role, Kelsey develops and facilitates strategic initiatives to support achievement of the organization’s goals, particularly from the perspective of the impact on people.  Kelsey consults with leaders regarding personnel matters and maintains a knowledge base of progressive HR practices and key trends.  She is responsible for creating, evalutating, and implementing policies that align with the company’s culture.  She oversees employee relations, legal compliance, risk management, and benefit and wellness initiatives and strategy.  In addition, during the pandemic, Kelsey has been a pillar of the company’s pandemic task force which quickly planned and executed the transition of staff to work remotely, recommended updated policies and procedures to the company’s senior leadership team, and strategized a plan to safely return employees to the office. 

Kelsey began her career with VGM in 2007.  She holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Northern Iowa, as well as certifications with the Society for Human Resources Management as a Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) and with the Human Capital Institute as a strategic Human Resource Business Partner (sHRBP).  She also serves as a board member for Leader Valley.  Kelsey lives in Winthrop, IA with her husband Ryan and kids Declan (6), Norah (4), and Caleb (2).  There’s never a dull (or quiet) moment in their house!
