DME MAC medical directors to speak at Heartland
WATERLOO, Iowa -- Dr. Stacey Brennan and Dr. Dick Whitten, medical directors for Jurisdiction B and D Noridian, respectively, will be guest speakers at the VGM Heartland Conference June 4-7.
They will discuss CERT audits, the top reasons for denials and how suppliers can reduce errors.
CERT contractors audit DME MACs and calculate both a national Medicare FFS paid claims error rate and a provider compliance error rate.
The CERT error rates give the contractors statistical data on specific areas. Based on this data, the MACs may revise policies, conduct full pre-pay reviews, provider-specific reviews and even change internal edits. -
Also attending Heartland will be provider outreach personnel from Jurisdiction A and B, as well as Erika Williams from the National Supplier Clearinghouse.
