Surviving - and Thriving! - With Liquid Oxygen Therapy
Speaker: Mary Erslon
Course Description:
Liquid oxygen therapy has long been a patient-preferred modality for those receiving home oxygen therapy because it is lightweight and long lasting. Newer, more efficient liquid oxygen delivery systems enable oxygen businesses today to not only to survive, but thrive under Medicare's current reimbursement environment for oxygen. This session provides a forum to demonstrate how changing patient trends and the current reimbursement climate allow oxygen providers to thrive with liquid oxygen.
Learning Objectives:
- Describe market trends evident in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)
- Identify cohorts of COPD patients most suitable for ambulatory liquid oxygen therapy
- Compare the current reimbursement climate for liquid oxygen and other ambulatory oxygen modalities
- Assess the relative costs associated with provision of various oxygen modalities
