Course Description:

This presentation is designed to provide practical, down-to-earth tools for exploring and effecting a joint venture startup or merger between a privately owned HME and a hospital-owned HME. The information is based on what the presenters have learned in real-life experiences with mergers and partnerships. The pedagogical methods are:

• Presentation of important information with illustrations and examples;
• Ongoing questions and answers during presentations to keep the audience engaged;
• Presentation of an actual case study of a successful joint venture;
• Break-out sessions based on a case study to explore creative solutions to issues that emerge during the course of the merger process; and
• The audience will be given materials to take with them that will provide tools for approaching and consummating a merger.
