Benchmarking: Measuring Results. Driving Improvements
Speakers: Dave Cormack | Vern Herrington | Jane Bunch
Course Description:
Benchmarking is a process in which organizations evaluate the performance of their operations in relation to best practices and/or other competitive norms within their business sector. However, until Internet-based software came along, automated benchmarking was only affordable to the largest of companies. Today, benchmarking for the masses is a reality.
Industry challenges, including accreditation, reimbursement cuts, oxygen caps, and competitive bidding, are requiring providers to identify smart ways to drive their business to higher levels of efficiency. Benchmarking is one of the most logical and proven ways to uncover these opportunities.
Because the data of hundreds of customers are stored on centralized file servers, Internet-based software models have a unique advantage when it comes to delivering benchmarking. This data can be accessed, aggregated, analyzed, and reported in real-time for comparison with the like-data of any individual company
Learning Objectives:
- Explain how the use of benchmarking and key performance indicators can improve the efficiency and profitability of HME/DME providers
- Determine why an Internet-based software solution is superior for delivering key comparative data and analysis
- List the advantages of using reports and other business metrics critical to navigating an HME/DME business in 2009
- Explain how to process and compare data from other organizations within the same business sector
